    Costumer Critiques

I bought this to replace a Panasonic NN-SD268M "Inverter" Microwave, that stopped operating following just 2 years. This Sharp model price half the value of the Panasonic, but in my opinion, performs just as nicely, and in some methods it's substantially far better.

I was a little hesitant to purchase given the quite a few comments relating to annoying beeping and the lack of a clock, but having utilized this now for a couple of weeks, I don't discover either of these to be a situation. The beeping isn't that distinctive to other Microwaves we've owned, and we have a lot of other clocks in the kitchen for telling the time.

Straight out of the box, this microwave was effortless to use. It only takes a couple of seconds to punch in manual occasions and the 3 Autocook settings I've utilized so far, have worked perfectly. If simplicity is high on your list of buy criteria, this is a superior microwave to go for. It's fairly a bit heavier than the Panasonic which is a plus, as it doesn't slide backwards when the door is opened (in contrast to the Panasonic). Some reviewers have mentioned that it does move, but I guess that may be down to the worktop it's put on (oak in our case).

    Couple of issues worth mentioning:

    - the glossy Black finish looks excellent (the product photo's don't do it justice!), but as with all factors black, the dust shows up easily!

    - it really is really compact on the outside, but seems rather sufficient on the inside for everyday cooking (veg, soups, drinks, ready meals, etc)

    - the outer cabinet gets fairly hot when it is on, so putting objects on top rated isn't a really good thought

    - as the manual states, the door is not airtight. In practice I discovered that smaller amounts of steam escape from about the door if you are cooking some thing with a high water content (e.g. Jacket Potatoes). Not a important issue for me.

I was tempted to give the Microwave four stars, but I believe for simplicity, worth for money and the fact it is a fine brand, this model is hard to beat and deserves 5 stars based on my encounter to date. I only hope that it's much much more durable than the Panasonic, which I really should add, I received a full refund for from the retailer concerned, regardless of it getting 15 months out of warranty!

I previously had a Sharp microwave - same specification but it was obtaining old. Replaced it with this, which looks wise but takes eg 50-60 seconds to heat a cup of tea exactly where the prior a single took 40 secs. Also, it is far more tough to push the button that opens the door with no the complete microwave sliding away across the kitchen surface. You have to use 1 hand to hold the microwave nonetheless whilst pushing the button, or put one thing behind the microwave to stop it sliding. The programming buttons appear to be way more slippery and have to be pressed harder, but if you press them too tough, you get twice the number of minutes/seconds you wanted and have to start once again! Apart from that, its great! Black does appear wise though.
